Genesis is the practice owner and clinical director of New Hope Psychotherapy. He founded this organization with the mission of providing a safe, secure and trusting partnership between him and his clients. He strives to provide life-transforming services that will result in a renewed knowledge of your inner-self, with the goal of helping clients draw more meaningful and lifelong relationships.

Genesis has expertise in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy and utilizes a Dialectical Behavior Therapy orientation to help clients unlock and process painful memories. Genesis strives to empower you with practical tools to navigate life’s challenge with a sense of calmness and self-control.

Experience

Genesis obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Baruch College, and earned his Graduate Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. His background includes research and direct practice experience treating adolescents growing up in Urban Communities, depression trends amongst older adults and retired professionals living in isolation, effective treatment approaches for first and second generation latino/a and BIPOC graduate students, comorbid disorders (simultaneous mental health/medical illness) amongst hispanic men and women, school refusal, professional/ministry burnout, career-related trauma reactions amongst law enforcement and other first responder professionals, and extensive marital counseling.
